Introduction- Evolution class
Hi everyone! My name is Allison Moore and I am from Smithville, MO, which is a small town north of Kansas City. I am majoring in Biology/pre-med with a psychology minor. I hope to go to medical school someday because I am very passionate about health and helping others. I am involved in an immunology lab here at K-State, and it has really sparked my interest in the possibility of helping people with immune issues some day. Eventually, I would like to live in Colorado or on the West coast because I love all the outdoor opportunities that those places offer. I am very fascinated about many different topics in evolution and biology. I am particularly fascinated about how humans will be predicted to change and adapt in the future, especially with all the current health issues our society is facing. I hope to gain a lot of knowledge and insight to how humans and other organisms have evolved. I am nervous but intrigued in how to learn coding and hopefully be able to apply this knowledge to my future career. I am also very excited for the set up in this evolution class because I learn well when there are more discussions and involvement in class.
Hello Allison,
ReplyDeleteIt's great to meet you and see another student from the area. I was raised in wichita, KS, myself.
Is there a specific topic in immunology in which you're more attracted?
What do you study in your immunology lab?
Do you want to be a practicing M.D. or are you drawn more toward research?
Hey Allison! Super cool that you're wanting to pursue med school one day and your passion for helping others! I currently just applied to PA schools so we have similar values and interests! I agree with being nervous with the coding, but I also feel like it will be a very helpful skill to have! I have no doubt that you will do great! Excited to see what your thoughts are the rest of the semester!
ReplyDeleteHey Allison, Casey Worley here! I noticed you are also applying to medical school! Same here! Also, Colorado sounds like a great place to live; ski in the winter and hike in the summer, what more could ya want! Anyways, I hope this class goes well for you and you have a great semester!
